This half-day plan suits anyone with only one window of time in Bangna who still wants a real café hop the way locals do it, a healthy lunch, a wide-open park to walk off the meal, and the neighbourhood's mega-mall to wind the day down in comfort. Bangna is far more spread out than Bangkok's inner neighbourhoods — the stops here span separate pockets from Bearing-Lasalle out to Srinakarin and Mega Bangna, so driving yourself or calling a Grab between stops beats walking or waiting on a bus. It runs from two cafes in the Bearing-Lasalle zone in the morning, an organic salad lunch, an afternoon at Suan Luang Rama IX Park, and a close at Mega Bangna at dusk.
The route
9:30 a.m. to dusk — coffee, salad, park and mall in Bangna
It's a wide area — plan on a car or Grab
Bangna is a much wider area than Ramkhamhaeng or Bang Sue. The stops on this route sit in separate pockets, from Bearing-Lasalle out to Srinakarin and Mega Bangna, roughly 5-9 km apart from each other. Driving yourself or calling a Grab between stops is far more practical than waiting on a bus. If your visit lands on a Thursday through Sunday, consider tacking on Train Night Market Srinakarin, open 17:00-01:00 and just a few kilometres from Mega Bangna, for one more round of street-food grazing before you head home.
Adjust the plan to your time and style
Bangna is a wide district where the stops sit kilometres apart, unlike the walkable inner city. This plan assumes short car hops — reshape it like this if your time or style differs.
- Only three hours: keep NANA Coffee Roasters Bangna → OhKaJhu's Lasalle rooftop → Mega Bangna, and drop Suan Luang Rama IX, which eats the most walking time.
- With family: move Suan Luang Rama IX to the cooler early morning and finish at Mega Bangna, which has a kids' zone, a cinema and plenty of restaurants.
- Cafe-focused: linger at NANA Coffee Roasters and Gooseberry Coffee, the two roasters locals rate most highly here, and save Mega Bangna for the evening.
- No car: ride the BTS Sukhumvit Line to Bearing or Samrong, then use Grab between stops. The hops are only a few kilometres, usually a low three-figure fare each.
💡 Know before you go: Bangna
Stops are 2-6 km apart, so plan on a car or Grab for every leg. If you drive, both Suan Luang Rama IX and Mega Bangna have large car parks.
Around 700-1,200 baht including two coffees, lunch and the transfers. Suan Luang Rama IX charges only a token entry fee of a few tens of baht.
Bangna-Trat Road and the ring road jam hard on weekday evenings. If you finish at Mega Bangna and need to head back into town, allow extra time or double back to the BTS at Bearing.
Mega Bangna is the best fallback — fully indoors with everything in one place. Suan Luang Rama IX is worth saving for another day if the rain is heavy.
