🔄 Updated 24 Aug 2026
This half-day route suits anyone who only has one window of time in Central Ladprao but still wants to hit the cafes, the food and the photo corners. Almost every stop sits within walking distance of MRT Phahon Yothin, so there's no hopping in and out of cars. It runs from a morning coffee behind Union Mall, through a free art space under the station, a northern khao soi lunch, a green park break, an afternoon rooftop coffee with an Elephant Building view, and finally a fairytale night market in the early evening — an easy, unhurried seven hours.
The route
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. — cafes, food and a night market around Ha Yaek Ladprao
Getting around without rushing
This area is easy to reach because two lines cross right here — MRT Phahon Yothin and MRT Chatuchak Park sit under the Ha Yaek Ladprao junction, with BTS Mochit right across for Chatuchak Park or a ride into town. Every stop on this route lines up along Phahonyothin road heading north, one step at a time, so they're all walkable. On a hot day or with tired legs, the stretches from the park to Roof24 and on to JODD FAIRS are easy motorbike-taxi hops from the mouth of the soi, saving you the longer walk.
Adjust the plan to your time and style
The route above runs about seven hours, but Central Ladprao stretches and shrinks easily because everything clusters around one junction. If you have less time or want a different flavour, swap it around like this.
- Only three hours: keep BAKEBURY → Metro Art → khao soi at Chiang Rai Noodles, then take the train back. You still get the coffee, the art and lunch in half the time.
- Cafe-focused: drop Suan Somdet Ya park and spend the time sitting longer at Roof24, taking in the Elephant Building view as the sun softens, or add a cafe in the Ladprao sois along the way.
- With kids or older travellers: stick to the air-conditioned stops with seating — Metro Art under the station and the noodle shop both have comfortable seats — and swap the longer afternoon walk for a motorbike taxi or a cab.
- Focused on the night market: start at 2pm at Roof24 for the Elephant Building view in softer light, then settle in for a long evening at JODD FAIRS DanNeramit at dusk, when the crowd builds and the castle lighting beats the daytime look.
💡 Know before you go: Central Ladprao
MRT Phahon Yothin Exit 5 is closest to Union Mall and the khao soi shop. BTS Mochit and MRT Chatuchak Park sit on the same side, handy for connecting on to Chatuchak Park or into town.
Around 600-1,000 baht covering morning coffee, the khao soi lunch, a rooftop dessert and food at the night market. Metro Art, Suan Somdet Ya park and entry to JODD FAIRS all cost nothing.
Late weekday mornings are the easiest. JODD FAIRS DanNeramit is busiest Thursday to Sunday at dusk, so if you dislike crowds go on a weekday or arrive before 6pm.
The daytime stops are almost all covered — Metro Art is underground, and the noodle shop and Roof24 are roofed. Only JODD FAIRS is open-air, so if the rain is heavy, shift it to a clearer window or head into Central Ladprao mall instead.
