Where to stay in
Victory Monument

Victory Monument is one of Bangkok's busiest interchanges. The whole city changes buses here, from the BTS to dozens of bus routes and the minivan stands that run to Hua Hin, Ayutthaya, and beyond. Around the traffic circle you'll find Center One and King Power malls, while nearby Soi Rangnam is a food street Bangkokians know well, especially its boat-noodle alley. The area's strengths are easy transport and low room rates, and with several big hospitals close by it works for medical visitors, travellers breaking up an upcountry trip, and anyone who wants a central base on a tight budget.

FAQ

Who is Victory Monument best for?

It suits travellers who want a central location on a budget with transport as the priority. There's the BTS, lots of buses, and the minivan stands for upcountry trips, so it works well for people who change buses often, anyone breaking up a trip to Hua Hin or Ayutthaya, and visitors with business near the Phramongkutklao, Rajavithi, or Phyathai hospitals.

Is it easy to get to the airport from Victory Monument?

Yes. For Suvarnabhumi, take the BTS one stop to Phaya Thai and switch to the Airport Rail Link, which runs direct to the airport in about half an hour. For Don Mueang, a taxi is simplest, or take the BTS to Mo Chit and change. And if you're heading upcountry, you can catch a minivan right at the traffic circle.

What's the difference between Soi Rangnam and the Victory Monument circle?

The Victory Monument circle is the transport hub itself, busy and full of traffic, with the Center One and King Power malls. Soi Rangnam right beside it is more about food, with restaurants, the boat-noodle alley, and a walkable local feel. Stay near the circle if transport is your priority, and lean towards Rangnam if eating is.
