Where to stay in
Central Pattaya Beach

Central Pattaya is where most visitors end up booking, because it puts the beach, Beach Road, the Central Festival mall, and the budget-friendly food-and-drink strip of Soi Buakhao all within walking distance of each other. Roughly, it splits into the beachfront side, where the sand is just across the road, and the in-town side around Soi Buakhao and Pattaya Second Road, which is cheaper and closer to restaurants and markets. One thing to know: Beach Road is traffic-heavy and busy day and night, while Soi Buakhao has bars and music in the evenings. Light sleepers should ask for a higher floor or an inward-facing room. The picks below run from budget hotels with rooftop pools to beachfront towers and a family resort with a water park.

Recommended hotels in Central Pattaya Beach

Travelodge Pattaya

★ 3-star · Best for: Budget · near Soi Buakhao and LK Metro · 🔎 Find a deal on Agoda

A fairly new budget hotel on a soi off Soi Buakhao, walkable to the LK Metro area and cheap local restaurants. The highlights are a rooftop pool and gym with city views, plus free parking. Reviews praise the clean rooms, friendly staff, and value. The trade-offs are smallish rooms and the fact that it's not on the beach, so it's about a 10-minute walk or songthaew ride down to the sand.

Pattaya Loft Hotel

★ 3-star · Best for: Budget · roomy and central · 🔎 Find a deal on Agoda

A loft-style three-star hotel (formerly Citin Loft) in central Pattaya near Soi Buakhao, about a 15-minute walk to the beach. The draw is rooms that are larger than most at this price, plus a pool and free Wi-Fi. Reviews are mixed: some praise the spacious rooms and location, while others note ageing furniture and inconsistent service. It suits travellers who prioritise room space on a tight budget over big-hotel service.

Holiday Inn Express Pattaya Central by IHG

★ 3-star · Best for: Mid-budget · reliable chain on Soi Buakhao · 🔎 Find a deal on Agoda

An IHG-chain hotel on Soi Buakhao, in the middle of the restaurant-and-bar zone and walkable to LK Metro. The selling point is predictable chain standards: clean rooms, comfy beds, and a rooftop pool with city views. It scores around 8.3 on Booking for location and cleanliness. The trade-offs are compact rooms and, because it sits on Soi Buakhao, some rooms catch outside noise at night, so ask for a higher floor.

Sunbeam Hotel Pattaya

★ 4-star · Best for: Mid-budget · two pools near the beach and Central · 🔎 Find a deal on Agoda

A four-star hotel at the top of Soi 8 near Pattaya Second Road, about a 5-minute walk to both Pattaya Beach and the Central Festival mall. The highlights are two pools and a fitness centre, with soundproofed rooms and a mini fridge. Reviews praise the central, walk-everywhere location and the value. The trade-off is that the building and decor feel older than newer hotels, and it sits on a busy street, so there's activity all around.

LK The Empress

★ 4-star · Best for: Beachfront · sea views across the road · 🔎 Find a deal on Agoda

A hotel on the Pattaya beach road, with the sand just across the street and the Central Festival mall about a 5-minute walk away. The draw is the sea-facing rooms with balconies overlooking Pattaya Bay, big beds, and a location central to everything. Reviews praise the views, breakfast, and friendly staff. The trade-off is the busy beach road outside, so street-side rooms get traffic noise; pick a sea-facing room for the view and a bit more quiet.

Grande Centre Point Pattaya

★ 5-star · Best for: Families · water park next to Terminal 21 · 🔎 Find a deal on Agoda

A five-star hotel on Pattaya Second Road, right next to the Terminal 21 mall. The selling point is that it's a full family hotel, with an on-site water park (slides and a lazy river), pools, a spa, and several restaurants, plus mall shopping right there at Terminal 21. Reviews rate it highly for the water park, spacious rooms, and attentive staff. It suits families who want the kids entertained on site. It's not directly on the beach, about a 10-minute walk down to Pattaya Beach.

Hilton Pattaya

★ 5-star · Best for: Luxury · beachfront tower atop Central Festival · 🔎 Find a deal on Agoda

A five-star tower above the Central Festival mall, right on the Pattaya beach road. The highlights are 180-degree Pattaya Bay views from the rooms, an infinity pool on the 16th floor, and the Horizon rooftop bar on the 34th, which has some of the best views in Pattaya, with the mall just an elevator ride down. Reviews praise the views, location, and service. It suits anyone who wants beachfront luxury and a central location in one place. Rates run well above the other options in the area.

FAQ

In Central Pattaya, should I stay on the beachfront or near Soi Buakhao?

It depends on your budget and priorities. The beachfront side (Beach Road), like LK The Empress or the Hilton, puts the sand across the street with good views, but costs more and has heavy traffic. The Soi Buakhao and Second Road side, like Travelodge or Holiday Inn Express, is much cheaper and close to restaurants and markets, but it's about a 10-minute walk or songthaew ride down to the beach. Choose beachfront for the sand and views, or the in-town side for value and easy eating.

Is Central Pattaya easy to get around without a car?

Yes, you don't need a car. Central Pattaya has songthaews (blue shared pickup taxis) looping constantly along the beach road and Second Road, starting around 10 baht per ride for short hops, you just flag one down and press the buzzer to get off. For longer trips, like Jomtien Beach or Pratamnak Hill, use Grab or a taxi. Within the area itself, the beach, Central Festival mall, and Soi Buakhao are all walkable.

Is Central Pattaya good for families with kids?

Yes, if you choose the right place. Pattaya Beach itself is shallow with plenty of restaurants around, and there are family hotels with on-site water parks like Grande Centre Point, right next to Terminal 21, where kids can play all day. Soi Buakhao is a bar zone at night, so with kids it's best to avoid rooms right on Soi Buakhao, or pick the quieter beachfront or Second Road side. The Central Festival mall also has a kids' zone and a cinema for family time.
