Pratumnak Hill

Pratumnak is much quieter and leafier than Pattaya Beach, but it isn't a long beach like Jomtien. Its appeal is the small coves like Cosy Beach and the bay below the Big Buddha, where the water is clear and the crowds light, plus the sea views from up on the hill. It suits couples and families who want a calm base near the water while staying a five-to-ten-minute drive from central Pattaya or Jomtien. If you want walkable nightlife and lots of bars, Pattaya Beach is a better match.

Because it's a hill, many places sit on slopes and aren't right on the sand, so walking up and down on a hot day can be tiring. Songthaews run along Phra Tamnak Road down to both central Pattaya and Jomtien, and Grab is easy to get. But if you want flexibility to explore over several days, a rented scooter handles the hill easily. If you don't drive, it's worth choosing a stay near Phra Tamnak Soi 5 or close to a beach so more is within walking distance.

On the hill there's the Big Buddha temple, a large seated Buddha with city views, and the Pattaya viewpoint that's popular for evening photos. Down below, Cosy Beach and the bay below the temple are good for a quiet swim. For more, central Pattaya is a short drive with Terminal 21, markets, and plenty of restaurants, while Jomtien's long beach and seafood spots are just as close. Boats to Koh Larn leave from Bali Hai pier, which isn't far either.
